Lighting is an important element in public space. Both for safety, creating atmosphere or illuminating a monumental building. We have carried out various assignments for the municipality and government. So we know how a public space can best be lit and what the focal points are.

Points of Attention

When you, as a municipality or government, are looking for lighting, you probably already know that there are several points of attention that you should take into account when you are going to light a public space. These include sustainability and energy efficiency. This contributes to cost savings and the transition to an energy-efficient municipality. All our LED lighting falls into the energy classes A to A+++.

Application

The illumination of public spaces can be applied in different ways. The lighting of monumental buildings, churches, creating public safety or atmosphere.

Led-e-Lux can give lighting advice and create a lighting plan based on the requirements.

We use the existing lighting and we convert or develop custom lighting. Tailor-made lighting is our specialty, therefore everything is possible. For all our lighting we consider four factors. These factors can be found at “what is good lighting”.

Maintenance

Public lighting is only useful if it works properly. Therefore, we offer the possibility to maintain and overhaul LED lighting. Worn cables, moisture in the fixture or defective LEDs, we will help you solve these problems.

Illuminating Monumental Buildings

When lighting a monumental building, it is important to keep the value of the building intact. It is often better and more beautiful to place the spotlights close to or even on top of the monumental building. In this way you create and accentuate specific points on the monument by using light and shadow effects.

Of course, the building can also be lit in its entirety if, for example, there are too many details present. Lighting all these details would then be too busy and the large amounts of light and shadow create confusion. Illuminating the building as a whole is best done by our floodlights. These have a wide beam (+100 degrees) and a relatively large capacity.

By not fully lighting the monumental mill but placing led strips in the sails, the mill is accentuated in a special way. The shape of the mill’s sails is recognizable but not in the same capacity as during the day.

In addition, the pedestal is illuminated with a warm color of white light. The vertical line of the mill is thus illuminated in a unique way. Everyone recognizes the typical image of a mill.

Tunnels

Led-e-Lux has already lit several tunnels for municipalities and government agencies.

The lighting installation in a tunnel consists of a basic illumination which applies over the entire enclosed length of the tunnel. The beginning and end of the tunnel can be defined separately. The entrance lighting is often especially important to support the transition from daylight to the relatively dark tunnel. After sunset, it is just the opposite, to prepare the visitor for the dark exit.

Tunnel Requirements

To determine the lighting requirements, a so-called determination method is used. This involves looking at the specific properties and from this follows the requirements package for the lighting. Important steps are:

  • Composition of traffic
  • How much visibility does the tunnel have?
  • Which preconditions are there and which in particular gives the civil environment?

The guideline discusses 3 different compositions of traffic:

  • Slow traffic
  • Mixed traffic
  • Fast traffic

There will be several measurements on site. This is done using a LUX meter. This determines the amount of light inside and outside the tunnel. This way we can give you the best advice.
